Nurturing Independence & Household Chores

​I know that 'help' is usually not actually helpful in the short-term but will certainly pay off in the long term.

Encouraging independence in your children from a young age will lead to a well rounded, self sufficient, capable and independent young adult.

Introducing age appropriate household chores will make children realise they have to do the work of life in order to be part of life, it boosts their self-esteem and teaches them how to work in a team.

Consultations

• A consultation takes 30-40 minutes

• Online consultations are held via Skype or Zoom

• The consultation focuses on:

  • the various reasons for promoting and nurturing independence in children from a behavioural, language, sensory and practical parenting perspective

  • how children benefit from being given household chores

  • ways to support your child's independence

  • examples of age appropriate tasks/activities/household chores that will encourage independence
